UBER — CHEZ SOI

Shot as one dinner, in order, across a single evening. The cast ate the food for real — which is why the rhythm of the film is the rhythm of a meal and not of an edit.

A warm, dimly lit dining room scene showing two people having a real dinner, illuminated by a single warm overhead lamp.

01THE TENSION

SHIFTING DYNAMICS

The chronological shoot wasn't just a technical experiment; it was a narrative necessity. As the dinner unfolds, the man's ulterior motives and toxic demeanor slowly begin to poison the room's atmosphere.

By filming the meal in real-time order, the camera captures the genuine, palpable buildup of discomfort. It documents the exact moment the dynamic fractures, culminating in a decisive exit rather than a cliché romantic resolution.

The narrative climax captured organically: leaving the uncomfortable tension of the dinner table behind.
02THE ESCAPE

THE ONLY WAY OUT

In traditional commercials, the product is front and center from the first frame. Here, the Uber app acts as the ultimate narrative relief.

After enduring the escalating discomfort of a terrible date, the interface becomes her immediate ticket out. The product isn't just a ride-hailing service; it's the definitive period at the end of a very bad evening, leaving the toxic dynamic literally blurred in the background.

Selecting actors capable of maintaining long-form, real-time tension while genuinely eating a full meal.
Film Production
Committing to a strictly chronological shooting schedule across a single evening to capture authentic, escalating discomfort.
Art Direction
Designing an intimate, dimly lit dining space that subtly feels more claustrophobic as the narrative progresses.
Sound Design & Score
Relying on the diegetic sounds of a real dinner to dictate the pacing, rather than an artificial editing rhythm.
